Mr. Riopel has more than 20 years of experience in the field of investment associated with natural resources, particularly in the mining sector. Over these years, he gained extensive experience as an investment fund manager, both for the private and the public sectors. He is the founding president of Latitude 45, a private investment fund specialized in the mining sector. Prior to founding Latitude 45, he was Senior Investment Manager at The Sentient Group – one of the largest private equity firms in the world, with over $2.7 billion US under management. Before joining the Sentient team, he worked for more than 6 years at the Société Générale de financement du Québec, today Investissement Québec, where he was the Investment Director responsible for the mining and metallurgy sectors. Mr. Riopel has been a member of the Board of Directors of Women in Mining Canada since March 2017 and is President of the Governance Committee. In recent years, he has been a member of the Board of several private and public companies. Mr. Riopel holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Université Laval, as well as a Bachelor’s in Economics from Université de Montréal.
