In November 2018, in order to formalize intellectual property transfer management for social innovations, Aligo created a two-year pilot project. Funded by Concordia University, ÉTS, UQAM, UQAR, UQAT, UQO and UQTR, these universities were all eager to see Aligo’s service offering extended to all of their departments, so as to ensure transfer to industries of all types of innovations, and in turn maximize the socio-economic benefits of the outcomes of publicly funded research. One result of that initiative was the creation of Aligo’s social innovation description form.
